In 1973 I bought a new Charger SE with a 440. To make the Ralley Red Charger a little different I added lake pipes which really did make it stand out. But the exhaust pipes under the car had to hang low which caused them to occasionally touch the payment. The small Southwestern town I lived in had a railroad track running through it over which I had to take my time crossing. One night I was on a date and there was a driving rain storm. As we approached the railroad crossing on this extremely dark night I saw they had done some construction so I drove over the tracks extremely slow but wouldn't you know it the pipes caught. I looked under the Mopar but it was so dark I couldn't see what was going on. Backing up didn't help so being on a railroad track I didn't have much of a choice other than go forward and listen to what was happening. After crossing I got out in the rainstorm to see what I had to do to drive the 1/2 mile to my house. When it was time to get back in I found that my date had locked me out "just for the fun of it". She finally let me back in soaking wet. So what happened to that girl, I married her about a year later. She said I passed the test that night of not getting mad at her and keeping calm. And that Charger, the stock exhaust system went back on it.
