Karla M 1972 Buick Skylark Custom 2dr Convertible

A little girl's love for her Aunt and Uncle and their cars.

Starting from a very young age, I was always fascinated with Antique/Classic Cars. My aunt and uncle also shared this love and were the ones who introduced me into the world of cars. The photo above is of his 1972 Buick Skylark in the Rocky Mountain National Park at approx. 11,700 ft. When I was 2 years old, all I wanted to do was drive with my aunt and uncle in their fancy classic cars around town. They promised me that once I was potty trained they would take me out, buy me a pretty dress and take me out for ice cream. Needless to say, it took me no time at all to get on board with the whole potty training thing and they kept to their promise of taking me out. We had blast, I felt like a princess and couldn't wait until the next time Uncle Mike and Aunt Debi would pick me up for a ride. Whether it was the Skylark, the 1987 Mercedes 560 SEC, the 1965 Buick Sportswagon or any of the other amazing cars through the years, I would always take vacations to visit my aunt and uncle (OH,TN, CA, CO), go to car shows with them and enjoy the love of speed, family, and comradery that the classic car family has embraced me with. This year, I will be taking my husband to Colorado for the first time to meet my Aunt and Uncle, and of course their cars. Did I mention I ended up marrying a Mechanic? :)
