On Labor Day weekend 2013 a group of hot rodders met at Bakers Restaurant in Elkton, Maryland to caravan to the annual Rock Hall car show. As we started the journey my father and mother led the way in their 32 Ford truck with 23 cars in tow. We added a 56 Chevy at Chesepeake City and a California Special at Galena. I was cruising in my 65 Comet at mid pack enjoying the view of my 68 AMX ahead of me with my marine son who was home on leave driving and my oldest son as passenger. By the time we turned off of rt. 213 we had 25 classics and hot rods nose to tail with no stragglers. What a sight. Wish we had a movie of this 50 mph parade. Also in the caravan was my brother in law Dennis driving his late father's 60 Chevy with his mom as passenger. This was one show that his father loved to attend since he had grown up in that part of Maryland. When we got to the show we were pleasantly surprised to see the 60 Chevy on the dash plaque which was heart warming especially for Dennis and his son who was also in the group driving their 75 Trans am. This day is a memory which will probably never be duplicated. The gathering was all by word of mouth and ended up being a great time for all involved. A special thank you goes out to Ed and Rose who honored Bob at their show. Thank you for reading this story. Jim.
