Favorite road trip started in late July, 2012. My wife and I were in our 1928 Erskine street rod. Along on the trip were two muscle cars driven by friends and their wives. They were veterans of long trips in old cars, and helped us immensely. We spent nine days driving from eastern Kansas to West Yellowstone MN (and back!) We got to know the other couples better (the two guys were brothers) and everyone enjoyed the breathtaking scenery. Cruising through Yellowstone Park in an old street rod was thrilling and attracted a fair amount of attention. The folks that put on the Yellowstone Rod Run did a fantastic job. I think it was their 42nd YRR. A few weeks later the driver of one of the other cars (a Judge) died suddenly and very unexpectedly. At a restaurant after Stan's wake, we reminisced about Stan and talked about how he wanted his next road trip to be to Back to the Fifties in St Paul MN. We raised a toast to Stan and vowed to make the trip in his honor. And in June 2013 we did just that, and it was a great trip, too!
