I am a General Contractor and was called for an estimate on a house remodel in Winter Park, Florida. The owner and I were doing a house review, and as we walked around to the back I caught a glimpse of an old jeep. I asked if I could take a peek at it, are you a jeep person he asked, I am I have a 2007 4 door 4X4 Unlimited X, well you are going to enjoy this he said. It is a 1950 Willys Jeepster, I had it 75% restored in 2001, parked it in the shed and never moved it again. It was covered in dirt and dirt dauber nest inside and out (it had no top) and it was very hard to see it's real condition. I asked him if he would like to sell it and he told me the reason he was reparing his house, was to sell it, and that he did not know what to do with the car. Well I guess barn finds are still around because I purchased the car for about the cost of a dump truck full of dirt. I took the Jeepster home and my wife and I spent about a week cleaning and polishing the car and we could not believe our eyes, it was beautiful, almost like a new car. We really like this little car and the attention it gets. We are going to show it at the next car show in Winter Garden, Florida, the third Saturday of July to share it with everyone else. This little piece of history should not have been left behind in the dirt but should have at least been passed along to another time keeper, but, we are very lucky and happy to have a chance to enjoy it for a while and then we will pass it along to the next keeper.
