In 1982 it was big news when Ford was advertising a new Boss Mustang. I was 25 years old and very excited about buying a new high performance car right off the showroom floor. At the time, I owned a 429CJ Torino, but it was older and didn't handle like new cars. After several test drives, I ordered a red on red GT with the 5L HO package.
After taking delivery of the car, I was intending to drive it as a daily driver. After six months, I liked it so much, I decided to keep it as a toy car, and bought an old car to drive until the Mustang was paid for. Interest rates were at high rates during this time. The first year was at 21%. Over the years, I kept the car like new, with some newer Mustang upgrades. It has 106,000 Km's on it today and is a survivor with the original paint, interior, belts, hoses, and wiper blades. It is only driven to car shows, cruises etc. It would be hard to part with today, as my wife and I were married before we bought this car, raised a daughter while owning it, and have a lot of memories surrounding this car.
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy my story about a great car.
