My first ride in a Model A was when I was maybe 6 or 7. We lived in the foothills southwest of Denver, on a road that was popular with the local clubs. The cars stopped at our house cause we had ample parking, water for overheated cars and of course, facilities!
I was enamored even then. The chug-chug of the engines the smell and that wonderful ahooga!
At some point someone offered to take me along. I was in alt!! I rode once or twice a year for several years. This was in the mid 1960's. (Never happen today)
Fast forward 40 years. . . My chosen family got back into A's. All those old memories came back. I actually bought my first A days after our club picnic. Hard to believe that I was afraid of damaging her when I first drove her!
I was addicted. I fell in love with my second A on sight! We now have 6 1/2 cars, as one is being built from pieces and parts.
I have had other old Fords but nothing has come close to my "girls"
