My passion started in 1967 when I purchased my first car at the age of 15. It was a beautiful '59 Chevy BelAir 2 door post car, Cameo Coral with a 6 cylinder stick.
It was an experience of a lifetime for the next year rebuilding the '59 so it would be ready for me to drive when I turned 16. I drove my '59 all through high school, it was truly my first love. My plans at that time were to keep my Chevy forever, but in July of 1970 it was involved in a very serious accident. My '59 Chevy was gone forever.
After working more than 36 years for GM and retiring from Corvette Bowling Green Assembly, I finally finished building a tribute to my first '59 BelAir. My new '59 BelAir is built with some modern updates, including a 350 V8, 700 R 4 trans., power disc brakes, power steering, red and white tuck and rolled interior and my favorite color, Corvette Torch Red.
My wife and I are having a ball enjoying our '59 Chevy and I will keep it forever.
