I grew up going to swap meets and car shows with my dad and mom, my brother and sister. That is what you do when you are born in to it. Car magazines and car pricing are dinner table topic discussions. Friday night cruises with at least 10 other hot rods, just another day in a kids life, right?
Fast forward many years later after being a passenger in a package shelf or passenger seat I decided I wanted to own my own. I have done a few shows but it is all fun no pressure, and my little girl rides with me, unimpressed that she is attending a car show, a swap meet and talking cars at the dinner table.
It's about making friendships, making connections, smelling car exhaust and not being able to comb out our hair at the end of a ride. Bonding. I suspect the family tradition will continue. Thank you to my supporting husband. He found the car for me and pushed me to pursue my dream.
Thanks mom and dad. I wouldn't want it any other way.
