Equipment
6-speed, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, power locks, Pirelli P-Zero tires, alloy wheels.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Paint has speckling on the nose and hood, almost like it was driven through a bunch of sand. One dent in the fender near the driver's door. Chip in the driver's side mirror paint. Trim has some very light scratches. Engine compartment is mostly clean and used. Tool hold down strap is broken. Driver's seat is cracked and worn more than it should be for a car showing 17,958 miles. Driver's door latch is scratched heavily. The panel that the AC/heater controls are set into is warped. The top is in excellent shape and likely spent most of its life off the car or was recently replaced or very well cared for. Auctions America also notes that it has an open recall on its CARFAX, which could be either fuel system or steering column issues. For a car with so few miles and given the high standards for used Ferraris, this car really should present better.
Market commentary
The 355 is a highly regarded car, one of Ferrari's best in the modern era. Spiders have started coming up in value after reaching the bottom of their depreciation curve, and an example with a proper 6-speed instead of the early paddle shifters should command a huge premium. This car's used condition despite its low miles, its lack of any represented service history and its open recall kept the bidders wary and brought this modest result for a Fly Yellow 6-speed F355 Spider.
