Equipment
302, 5-speed with overdrive, Shelby alloy wheels, Goodyear tires, ceramic coated stainless exhaust with Borla mufflers, heavy duty clutch, Hurst shifter, Koni adjustable shocks.
Condition
Number 37 of 65 built. Showing just 14 miles and with the original owner until last year. Still has plastic on the seats and door cards. There are still stickers on the wheels, and all paperwork is still with the car. Like a toy you keep in the box.
Market commentary
In the early ‘90s, Shelby was still in its fling with Chrysler and the Shelby badge was conspicuously missing from high-performance Mustangs while other companies like Saleen filled in. But the Shelby American Automobile Club nevertheless stepped up and in conjunction with Ford created the SAAC Car Company to develop a small batch of special ‘Stangs. This car is very limited production and it’s not just a sticker and body kit special. The engine and performance offer real performance upgrades. One of several impressive Fox-bodies out of the aptly named “Meticulous Mustang Collection,” this is a car to keep and look at, not to drive. And it brought a hefty premium over the $17,220 ($37,400 in 2023 money) on the window sticker. Very expensive, but it’s surely the cleanest example of one of the rarest Fox-bodies there is.
