Equipment
1,990cc/170hp, turbocharged, 4-speed, alloy wheels, Kumho tires, cassette stereo, dash clock, boost gauge.
Condition
The doors stick out slightly at the bottom. Lightly run, mostly restored engine bay. Very good paint. Very good interior. Light scratches on the rear bumper. Recently restored by marque specialists, with a few small corners cut. Still a great, genuine 2002 Turbo, which is king of the Neue Klasse family.
Market commentary
Interest in BMW 2002s has been on the rise, and the Turbo is at the top of the heap in terms of rarity and performance. Gooding sold one for $143,000 at Pebble Beach last year, but it was a fresher and better car than this one at RM. Both are very high prices, but a worse example selling for more money only a few months later suggests that these are still on the way up.
