Equipment
Wide alloy wheels painted white, Dunlop Racing tires. Class winner at Le Mans in 1973 (Ballot Lena Elford) after winning the spring 4 hour there (Andruet Wollek). Stripped interior but with two seats. Full roll cage, 5-point belts. Original engine, transmission and more.
Condition
Pretty much as raced with some paint shrinkage and subsequent use. Wheels look new, some front suspension parts are new but rear suspension is old and dirty. Chassis is fresh, new tires still have nubbies. Lost oil pressure during demos on Saturday (where it went real fast and sounded great) and qualified in the Saleroom Notices as being returned to Roelofs, which did the engine, for repair under warranty.
Market commentary
It may be wonderfully preserved, historic, successful, fast, loud and immediately recognizable as one of the most important Ferrari GT race cars ever but it''s little wonder that having ended its demo laps with bupkus oil pressure the bidders were a reluctant to step up to the plate with $3 million or so (or Euros 2.5 million) without some assurance the original engine didn''t get damaged. It didn''t seem like it had, but seem is small enough comfort for spending medium seven figures.
