Equipment
Gutted interior, roll bar. Represented as the first production Sud (backed up by chassis and engine number) and factory prepared for racing, with DOT EPA documents (probably as a race car, since the Sud was never imported to the US). Pretty original and only slightly rusty which attests to a sheltered life in spite of the 15,895 miles on the odometer. From Wisconsins own Tom Zats Alfa Heaven.
Market commentary
Its hard to say what this transaction means. Few Alfa Suds survive. They were terribly built to begin with and havent improved with age, sort of the Italian equivalent of a Chevy Vega. This will, however, be a unique vintage sedan racer and ever popular at Alfa owners gatherings. Probably bought for a reasonable price for its uniqueness and the conversations it will start.
