Equipment
Cataloged as Originally a 383 car, it is VIN coded for a slant six. 426 425hp Crate Hemi, 4 speed, P S, P B, A C, Dana 60 axle, Orange wheels with dog dish hubcaps, cassette stereo, driving lights, P W, P top, Rally instruments. Good paint with some polisher scuffing, good interior and chrome. Gaudy colors. The 22 year collection of NOS parts wasted on creating this cloke apparently didnt include a correct period Hemi engine. A fancy fake.
Market commentary
Having paid $214,000 for this gaudy fake at the RM auction in Boca Raton in February the owner must be more than a little chagrined, as evidenced by the $180K low estimate and the reported high bid of $165,000, both of which are, in my opinion, optimistic. It is real eye candy, but its still a show off fake that should be sold for any real money offer of $80,000 or more. Your first loss is your least loss. Get rid of it.
