Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

One of two distinctive Carl Haas L&M sponsored Can Am Lola T260s built for Jackie Stewart to drive in 1971, but un established if it was the car the Wee Scot raced or the spare which apparently spent the season in the trailer. Later sold to either Tom Heyser or Jerry Hansen. Later acquired by Rosso et Bianco. Gone through and now looks like a mid season well maintained race car with a fresh Keith Black 778hp, 698 lb ft Big Block.

Market commentary

Howden Ganley drove it onto the block for reasons which were explained at the time but are unclear in retrospect. A thundering relic of the final years of the unbridled Can Am and an opportunistic acquisition for a realistic price.
