Equipment
They say every car has a story, and this one is no exception. Story is that in 1970, a real life casino heist at Harrahs in Reno, Nevada staged and this car was used for the getaway. Today the car remains with its original condition with numbers matching power train. Showing a little over 28,600 miles, it hasP S, P B, 426 425hp Hemi, column mounted automatic shifter. With poverty hubcaps and factory hi po steel wheels, it was plenty fast in its day, but was still eventually caught. Even in 1970 these cars stood out like a sore thumb. The bad guys would have been better off using a Belvedere.
Market commentary
This car has been on the market for the past several years crossing the block several times including Kruse Auburn Fall in 2007 where it was reportedly bid to $200,000. It didnt bring enough money for the seller in good times. Now with the economic down turn the amount of cash being offered, which was close to the amount received for another Hemi Superbird at this sale, seemed pretty fair, glad to see it go to a new home, exhibit and enjoy!
