Equipment
RHD. Tidy, orderly older restored race car with very good cosmetics. Balled up at Le Mans in 1970 and left as a ball until 1990 when this car was created by Bob Houghton from the chassis plate, engine, gearbox, steering rack and suspension components as a 512 M. Beyond that, its history is subsequent.
Market commentary
A sweet, powerful and svelte race car, there is little real about this 512 M other than its chassis plate, ... etc. Driven hard, it can be put away wet without concern for much other than the engine. The Monterey bidders were discerning about this built 512 M and not confused about its origins.
