Equipment
427/750hp aluminum ZL1 engine, 4-speed, side exhaust, BFG Radial T/A tires.
Condition
Built as an L88 coupe, then prepared by John Greenwood and decked out in stars and stripes by his brother Bert. One of three built by Greenwood and sponsored by BFGoodrich to promote its then-new line of T/A tires, it was initially meant for promo duty but since another of Greenwood's Corvettes crashed it was pressed into competition duty. Driven in period by John Greenwood, Bob Johnson, Dick Smothers, and Don Yenko. Won its class at the 1972 Watkins Glen 6 Hour race, and ran at both Sebring and Daytona. At Le Mans in 1973, it set the GT class speed record of 215 mph but retired at the four-hour mark. Concours restored in the 2000s and still presents very well.
