Market commentary
Top sale of the auction, an increase of $209,850 from the $108,150 it brought here in 2004. The sad aspect of its otherwise impeccably preserved and largely original condition is that the odometer shows just 8 more miles in five years. What''s the point of owning a tire shredding torque monster like this without at least once tuning it up, changing the fluids, testing the brakes (!) and doing the Woodward Dream Cruise while treating the crowd to smoke shows on every block in one of the most rare and desirable Corvettes ever built? Its impossible to quibble with the buyer''s determination of value -- or the seller''s for that matter. Now, tune it up and air it out.
