Equipment
Chrome wire wheels, cassette stereo. A scary XKE with poor panel fit on hood and passengers door, lumpy bodywork behind drivers door, rust bubbles in the drivers door bottom, paint over old undercoat on chassis. Weather strip poking up everywhere, scratched chrome trim. Nothing positive offset the generally superficial presentation of this Jag.
Market commentary
Because of bad weather the Houston cars were lodged longer than expected in the hotels dark parking garage, making inspection difficult. That might explain why this car brought so much money, but even on the block or in the lineup only a blind bidder could have failed to notice its plainly evident shortcomings. This will not be a satisfying experience for the new owner.
