Equipment
13,062 miles. Originally delivered to Herbert von Karajan, known history since. Silver painted wire wheels. Repaint is only fair, with dust and fisheyes. Good original interior, windshield delaminating at left edge. Engine and trans recently refurbed. A good, and very original, GT40. Saturday Prime Time.
Market commentary
This poor Mark III is becoming more common auction blocks than this reporter. It has barely more than 13,000 miles from new. The owners price expectation (which this bid fairly approximates) is based on its low miles and originality. That also makes it essentially unusable for anyone who wants a GT40 driver. Every mile makes it worth less. The poor car deserves a better fate.
