Condition
Non-original date-code correct engine and transmission, original colors. Powder coated frame. Body-off restored. Pitted steering wheel but otherwise fantastic like-new interior. Factory gaps. Some light scratches on the top frame. Very good paint and chrome. Very clean engine bay. Spotless like new-chassis. Fresh, mostly great car with a handful of flaws.
Market commentary
And, of course a replacement engine, gearbox and intake manifold. It isn't even known if it started out as a 396. The bidders overlooked the uncertainty, the non-original drivetrain and the oversights in the restoration in according it this price which would be appropriate to an original engine SS 396 convertible without noticeable flaws.
