Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Nardi woodrim steering wheel. Good paint, interior and trim. Restored nearly like new. Original engine (95061) long gone. Pushrod engine installed, non matching number 4 cam engine (KD P11026) included. Raced in Germany by first owner Gerhard Koch. One of 21 built. Restored in 2005.

Market commentary

Arguably one of the most important racing Porsches, even if it was assembled by Abarth. The replacement 4 cam engine could be overlooked if it were in the car and running but its uncertain condition (it was not even on site at the auction) is a significant risk for potential buyers and no doubt figured in the bidders reluctance to get enthusiastic.
