Equipment
this right hand drive and early roadster is presented in concours condition having first left the MG Abingdon works in 1966. Being the most desirable MkI version, classic two seater has the reckoned to be proper door handles, too, as well as the desirable overdrive equipped manual gearbox. During the previous ownership of Alan Angus, the sportscar was totally rebuilt with a Heritage bodyshell, whilst the running gear was rebuilt or renewed and new chrome wire wheels and spinners fitted. Through his A&M Motors, a restoration company which has been in the classic car restoration business in the North West for over thirty years, all the work was carried out to the highest standards. For apart from the shell change, chrome bumpers and other brightwork were renewed, as were the lights. Inside, the seats were leather trimmed in black piped in body colour red, new trim and a mohair hood fitted and a stainless steel exhaust installed. The total cost of producing such a stunning motor car is said to have cost in excess of +18,000. Since completion, reportedly the B has only been exposed to about one thousand miles driving. Apparently it has also always been maintained and stored at A&M Motors. The 73,166 miles displayed when entered for this sale is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage from new.
