Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

6 Weber carbs added at Ferrari in the late 1960s, chrome spoke Borranis, Michelin XWX blackwall tires. Ferrari Classiche certified, leather upholstery.

Condition

Color-changed during late 1980s restoration. Good paint with some overspray inside left rear fender on older underbody repaint. Exceptionally neat engine and chassis. Odd-looking velocity stacks. Difficult to fault in any meaningful way.

Market commentary

This car sold at Christie's Geneva, Switzerland auction in 1998 for $221,493. It is difficult to fault, perhaps, but passed through many hands over the years, color changed and upgraded with 6 carbs after it left Maranello (the first time.) A 275 GTB in Fly Yellow, however, is an arresting visual presence and this no doubt added to its appeal, particularly on the auction block. The seller should be extremely happy with this result.
