Equipment
RHD. Silver wire wheels, outside laced at the front. Good recent repaint, crack in engine cover by right roof hinge. Some period race history including 65 Targa Florio 1st in class (Tarainazzo Signala) for Scuderia SantAmbroeus. Crashed in the early 70s, eventually sold to, and restored by, Wayne Sparling, former NART crew chief and used frequently since. Condition is appropriate to its history; clean, works well, but not a show car.
Market commentary
An exceptionally nice LM with a known history, maintained and presented nearly in like new condition. With the exception of Ken Starbirds crash, the history is clear and the car is a good value that should have no unhappy surprises. This price is $163,000 more than 6023LM, with a better racing history and condition, brought at Christies in Pebble Beach last summer.
