RHD. 289 400hp V8, four Weber carbs, 5 speed ZF transaxle. Shelby King Cobra team car driven by Bob Holbert, Dave MacDonald, Ken Miles, Augie Pabst, Sckp Scott, Ed Leslie, Ronnie Bucknum. Known history from new, authenticated by Carroll Shelby. Intake manifold, oil pan, valve covers, body panels, even the windscreen are all original King Cobra items. Good paint, otherwise aged from its early 90s restoration and little if any subsequent use. No Reserve.

Market commentary

This is a very special car, with a very significant history and it was bought for a very reasonable price in todays market where people are crazy for anything Shelby. Compared with $5.5 million for the Super Snake, the King Cobra has a significant period history and some important drivers tried to tame it. Even at the top of RMs estimate this is still a sound value.
