Equipment

Later Typ 587 2 engine apparently installed by Porsche (originally 97175 Type 587 1). Aluminum doors, plexiglass side and rear windows, roll bar, race number light on right door. No known race history. Mostly original, including the interior. Engine rebuilt some time ago by Bill Doyle and upgraded to 180hp. Recently carefully checked over, brakes rebuilt, suspension and wheels crack checked.

Market commentary

Bought for well under Bonhams low estimate but still a substantial price in dollars for a car with no known history and a replaced engine.
