Equipment
Chrome centerlock wire wheels, flat floor, welded louvers, aluminum radiator, Moss gearbox, gray cloth boot cover, woodrim steering wheel, pushbutton radio.
Condition
Comes with manual and tool kit. Sold new in L.A. Represented with recent ground-up restoration. Even gaps. Good but not excellent paint. Headlight bezels don't quite fit flush. Some light discoloration on the boot cover. Light wear to the seats. Small dent in the aluminum trim on top of the transmission tunnel. Not a JCNA winner, but only people looking for flaws will really find any. The big problem with this car, though, it that its 3.8-liter engine is from a later car. Gorgeous driver, although you better have small feet.
Market commentary
Sold at Gooding & Company Amelia Island in 2014 for $129,500, then sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in 2015 for $176,000. The replacement engine will always dog this car when it comes time to sell it, especially when it comes to these welded louver Flat Floor Roadsters that are the most collectible, and early E-Type values haven't done much since this car's previous trips to auction. The seller may be holding out for much closer to the number from Scottsdale 2015, but it's not really worth much more than the reported high bid here in Kissimmee.
