Equipment
Hub caps, Jaeger speedometer, fringed surrey top, wicker seats.
Condition
One of just 50 of these cars built and reportedly just 20 are left, so this is way rarer than a Fiat Jolly, not to mention faster. It has also been restored to very high standards, with excellent chrome, paint, wicker and engine bay. It's gorgeous.
Market commentary
Sold for $13,800 at RM Hershey in 2003, before restoration. A fortune (at least in relation to its inherent value) has been spent on it since, and LA is a lot closer to a beach than Hershey, but never before has a 4CV Jolly (or Resort Special) brought close to this result. This result is curve-setting.
