Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Custom metallic black paint with detailing swirls on the rear and several light scratches just in front of the windshield and on the hood. There is a gouge with a touch up on the driver's side trunk hinge. Brightwork is scratched with some pitting. The soft-top has been replaced but is dirty and has been torn and stitched up. Seats and doors have been redone in leather. The engine is correct other than a new battery with a disconnect switch. Engine compartment was repainted, but valve cover is dented and scratched. The underbody shows a lot of wear and oxidation, including on the exhaust. An older partial restoration done to somebody else's personal taste. A driver, and not a great one.
Market commentary
This would have been a good buy even if it had brought another five grand. The new owner has himself a mediocre old TR3, but doesn't have very much money in it yet and it's the kind of thing that would be easy to enjoy while improving it on the weekends and over the winter.
