Equipment
327 440hp Chevrolet, 4 speed, chrome sidepipes, chrome wire wheels, acrylic windscreen, chrome roll hoop, billet and wood rimmed steering wheel. Live rear axle, not deDion as cataloged. One of two second generation cars built, owned for a time by Bill Devin and later a winner of its class at The Quail in 2003. Very good paint, interior and mechanicals. A historic car that looks like a replica with its billet bits and abundant chrome.
Market commentary
That Devins look like kit cars to begin with has much to do with their fiberglass bodywork and that they were, in fact, sold as kits. This Devin SS is both historically important and potent but was hurt by the considerable addition of zippy chrome pieces and a cheesy billet and wood rimmed steering wheel. Better presentation in the future will help it earn a more appropriate bid.
