Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome driver rollbar, 2 liter Climax. The first customer dlivered 1959 Moco, raced by Curt Lincoln in Finland, next owned by Jack Brewer in Elmira, NY and eventually by Don Orosco from whom it was purchased by the present owner in 1984. Restored and vintage raced in California, recently displayed in the Towe Auto Museum in Sacramento. Honest race car with plenty of duct tape. Decent paint. Plenty of use and age evident and will need to be recommissioned before being raced.

Market commentary

This is more than was paid for CM 3 62, lot 441, today which was in much better, freshly restored, condition. Being the first 1959 Moco, driven by Jochen Rindts father in law, wouldnt seem to carry this much of a premium. Maybe the underbidders on Lot 441 were desperate to go home with a Moco and unwilling to wait until tomorrow to see if theyd get the one at RM.
