Chrome Borranis. Meticulously restored from boxes of parts to 1993 Pebble Beach class winning condition. Asked to appear at PB in 2000 it still finished 3rd in class. A beautiful car, with exceptional cosmetics and a very strong presence. Excellent bodywork with even gaps and smooth panels.
Market commentary
This is such a handsome and charismatic Maserati and it ignited one of the few serious bidding wars at Christies this evening, as the result, well over Christies high estimate, indicates. The longevity of its restoration is no doubt a factor in its value, indicating it will continue, with good care, to look good and hold its value. Expensive, but worth it.
