Market commentary
Bidding opened at $2 million and came close to selling against what is probably a $3,250,000 reserve. Under the circumstances it is a surprise that having come this close a deal wasnt put together off the block, especially when it was sold just two years ago by RM here in Monterey for $2,282,500, especially as theres no mention of the 625 TR engine that went with then. Even taking off a sellers commission this price represented a profit of over 25% in two years, fair enough for a car which has provided its own income through historic racing enjoyment.
