Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Uprated 6GCM delivered to Baron de Graffenried in 1954 with 250F engine and S N 2510. Factory later fitted engine 2518 and changed chassis number (that car reported destroyed in a fire at the factory). Long in Walter Grells collection, largely as raced and never restored. Presentable but needs thorough preparation before hitting the track.

Market commentary

The level of overhaul and checkout this car needs will take its ultimate investment beyond $800K, still below todays value of a 250F, but this isnt a 250F. It will historic race just about like a 250F, though, except for the lack of the deDion rear axle, and should be considered bought for a fair price. The buyer must have considered that 2518s chassis plate may yet turn up.
