Equipment

Cataloged as Typ 540 K 9 1 but better known as one of the prototype 356 America Speedsters. Steel bodied roadster built by Glaser Heuer and finished by Reutter with unique features including a fixed windshield frame and fully disappearing top. First owner Hubert Brundage whose Jacksonville dealership became Brumos Porsche. 7th in class at Sebring in 1954. Restored by Charles Coker in the early 90s with its original engine and transaxle. Restored to better than new condition and maintained accordingly. An important link between the America Roadsters and the Speedster.

Market commentary

This car was offered by RM in Monterey in 2006 where it no saled at a reported $700,000 bid. Important as it is, it is much more appropriately valued in todays sale and it will reward its new owner with surprise, admiration and envy at any Porsche gathering.
