Equipment
McCulloch supercharged 226/140hp six, automatic, chrome wire wheels, wide whitewalls, windshield visor, side window visors, skirts, pushbutton radio.
Condition
#4 Fair
Has visible flaws to the naked eye. Runs fine, but could use mechanical or cosmetic attention.
Cracked, chipped, scraped old repaint. Sound original interior. Dull, pitted original chrome trim, good bumpers. Sound body. Dirty original engine compartment and chassis. New chrome wire wheels. Barely usable as is but more likely the basis for a straightfoward restoration.
Market commentary
The McCulloch centrifugal supercharged managed to get 22 more horsepower out of Kaiser's L-head six, a lot of complication for a moderate performance boost at a cost of $262 more than the unblown Kaiser Special. Although this is an intrguing old car, it's in nearly appalling condition and the seller should have snapped any real money close to the reported high bid. Even fully restored it should bring much if anything over $30,000 and it's more than $20,000 away from being restored.
