Equipment
Engine appears to be a replacement, canvas top, leather interior, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.
Condition
#4 Fair
Has visible flaws to the naked eye. Runs fine, but could use mechanical or cosmetic attention.
An actual barn find car, and . needs everything. Paint is faded, body is beginning to rust and the doors do not close well if at all. The top is ratty and tore away during a gust of wind during the preview. Interior is ratty and old. A car in desperate need of a body-off restoration.
Market commentary
Sold for $45,100 at Auctions America's 2014 Spring Auburn sale. The buyer is already $43,000 underwater before he buys a single part or pays for one piece of shop work. With the top price for a steel XK120 DHC at around $125,000, the $82,000 margin is poised to vanish in labor costs.
