Equipment
Chrome spoke wire wheels, grille mounted driving lights, double bubble roof, numbers matching original engine, impressively artistic main gauge cluster. Elaborata coachwork modified by Zagato. Raced and hillclimbed when new by Anna Maria Peduzzi and later by Jean Claude Arifon in France. Sharp, fresh paint, chrome and interior restored by Tillack in 2002, second in class at Pebble Beach, subsequently driven on two Colorado Grands. One of four known survivors with this body style.
Market commentary
Exceptionally handsome and rare coachwork coupled with Fiats gutsy little 2 liter V 8 and early competition history combine to make this Zagato bodied Fiat eligible for just about anything and sure to be one of the most intriguing cars at any event or show. Why it should bring nearly double the price of 0061 sold by Gooding here a year ago for $682,000 (with two in period Mille Miglia entries to its credit) is a question on the the bidders can answer, but it sure looks expensive from the outside.
