Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Silver wire wheels. Driven by Taruffi and Vandelli in the 1952 Tour of Sicily, then sold to Bruno Sterzi. Later to Roberto Bonomi in Argentina. Restored for Kerry Manolas in 1982. Restored by Motion Products in 1997. Excellent paint, interior and chrome. Still fresh, sharp and better than new.

Market commentary

Sold at Barrett Jackson back in 1995 for $312,375, then at RM Monterey in 2004 for $995,500 which after commissions and fees is about what the seller will get out of this transaction. The history is clear, the condition is excellent, and the model is rare. The last two auction transactions have added $220,000 in transaction costs to the reported value, on the buyers side alone.
