Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD.Silver outside laced wire wheels, rectangular fog lights, blackwall tires, outside mirror, 3 carb intake. Displayed at Brussels in 1951. Competed in the 1957 Liege Rome Liege rally. Discovered in Zimbabwe (then known as Rhodesia) in 1960 by W.D.M. Hay, restored for him in 2003 by Hall & Hall, took part in 2006 Mille Miglia. Unusual grille shape looks like an Aston Martin but otherwise essentially Ghia and Ferrari in outstanding condition and with period competition history that will enhance its acceptability in historic events.

Market commentary

Bid to Euros 300,000 on the block and closed later with this result, a reasonable transaction for both the buyer and the seller.
