Market commentary
ntroduced in 1949, the Oldsmobile Rocket V-8 was the first high compression, overhead valve V-8 engine in the postwar era, the trendsetter for the American automobile right up to the present day. This is a beautiful example, but it's not from the first year and the price is generous by $15,000 or so.
