Equipment
230/103hp, 3-speed, dual outside mirrors, hub caps and trim rings, added turn signals, heater.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
The paint is newer, but has noticeable chips and scratches on the front. Gaps are uneven. Doors sag and rub their frames. Bumpers are scratched and have a few noticeable dents. Trim is lightly scratched and needs polishing. There are notable paint lines in the jambs and some rubber has paint on it where it was improperly masked. Interior has newer seat upholstery. The headliner is dirty but not sagging. Gauges are clear but slightly dusty. Engine has lost all its finish, but does appear in good repair mechanically. An older partial restoration of a seldom seen early postwar Dodge, but no show car.
Market commentary
The base trim level for Dodge's first postwar body redesign, the Wayfarer was nothing if not basic and it is somewhat amazing that this one has survived as well as it has. Survival has more to do with the price it brought than any intrinsic appeal, but it's not unreasonably priced at this result.
