Equipment
235/112hp ohv six, ash framework, mahogany panels, Goodyear Super Cushion wide whitewall tires, column shift 3-speed with overdrive, dash clock, suicide rear doors, Weather Eye ventilation system.
Condition
The paint shows several chips with touch ups on the nose along with small scratches on the passenger front fender and on the roof. The wood paneling is in very good condition with no drying and the fit is excellent. The front bumper is good but the rear bumper has extensive pitting. The interior shows little wear but on the passenger's side there is a small tear on the backrest. The engine is correct and the engine compartment is in excellent condition and well detailed. The undercarriage is very clean with no wear showing. A body-off restoration that wasn't done yesterday but still presents very well. A woody is always attention-grabbing, but a Nash woody, especially one as well equipped as this, will stand out even more among the wood-bodied cars from the Big Three.
Market commentary
I've never seen one before, nor I suspect have most other people since there were only 130 built. The older restoration was done to very high standards and is holding up extremely well, but it is the thrill of discovery of something really unusual that makes this a great car. Sold without reserve well short of its estimate range it's likely only a few people in Auburn realized what or how rare it was. The one who did got a significant automobile in exceptional condition for a reasonable price.
