Equipment
RHD. Silver wire wheels, skirts. Decent older restoration. Dual carbs. Clean and orderly if not fresh. First known owner was Dr. Sam Scher in 1949, raced at Watkins Glen in 1950 and at Sebring in 1952 driven by Paul Ceresole and J. Greenwood. Restored in the 80s and subsequently vintage raced. Wire wheels rebuilt by Dayton, engine redone by Chris Leydon with billet crank, Carrillo rods and Arias pistons with 15 hours since. Not concours but a very high quality vintage race car and track ready. Titled as a 1946.
Market commentary
Despite the Cisitalia me and the rare Spider Nuvolari coachwork this is still a Fiat 1100 and it takes a Tazio Nuvolari to get it to perform like a supercar. Which he did with a similar car in the 1947 Mille Miglia, finishing second to Biondettis Alfa 8C2900. On the MM Retro the Cisitalia will probably get more attention, and more favorable attention, than a mega buck Ferrari. That goes a long way toward supporting this impressive price.
