Equipment
Red wheels, wide whitewalls, skirts, radio, heater, business coupe style with no rear seat. Tired and largely original but also sound an unmolested. Quick old repaint, pitted interior trim, lightly crazed knobs and steering wheel. Front seat cushion and back recovered, otherwise original interior. Delaminating windwings, original trunk trim, pitted hood trim and missing one vertical grille bar. Paint blistered on left cowl. A neat car, usable as is and from a low production year.
Market commentary
No Reserve. Primetime Friday. One of two 42 Zephyrs at B J WPB, both bought by the same collector. A handsome and unusual coupe from the war shortened 1942 year. Worth what he paid for it and unlikely to meet itself coming around a corner anytime soon. When the opportunity to buy something like this presents itself its either act on it or regret missing it. Restoration is unlikely to enhance this Zephyrs value.
