Equipment

The star of the show. Superbly restored in original colors by Paul Russells specialists. 1937 Berlin Motor Show, ex Jack Warner, preserved in highly original condition for years by George Bitgood. Long tail, high door with spotlights, driving light, enclosed rear spare. Still absolutely stunning nearly seven years after its debut at Pebble Beach in 1995 with fabulous paint, brilliant chrome everywhere and a sumptuous interior.

Market commentary

$3.6 million seems to be the going price for a 540K Special Roadster. This one went to a great new home where it will stand tall even among some pretty impressive garagemates. Bruce McCaw
