Equipment
No Reserve. RHD. Handsomely bodied in the 90s in Belgium with a body reminiscent of the Riley TT Sprite, one of a series of six similar specials. Black wire wheels, single right sidemount, cycle fenders, aeroscreens, twine wrapped steering wheel, later turn signals, Lucas headlights and markers, Hartford friction shocks, left side external exhaust asbestos wrapped to minimize burns to the passengers arm. Exceptionally well done with good paint, chrome and very old but sound upholstery. Orderly but aged underhood. Minor dents, but not enough to warrant a repaint.
Market commentary
Rileys had a deserved enthusiastic following in the Thirties, sufficient to see them earn a significant profit in 1933. Their characteristic dual low camshafts with pushrod operated overhead valves and hemispherical combustion chambers made exceptional power and they were well built, handled well and were reliable. This result is nearly heroic money for one among todays collectors, especially as a 90s built special, though.
